Lake County Wine Studio is a specialty wine tasting room and retail
shop featuring a number of the boutique wineries in the Lake County
region who do not have their own wine tasting facilities. Its location
in the old western town of Upper Lake with its antique stores, museum
and saloon, adds a rustic authentic charm.
This is a great spot to taste wine from a number of different producers, including the wines from Bell Hill Vineyards, Cleavage Creek, Demeter, Kaymen-Hughes, Fore Family Vineyards, Obsidian Ridge, Sol Rouge, Spencer-Roloson, and Zoom Wines.
In addition to wine tasting, the shop hosts artwork in various mediums, locally produced gourmet food items, books and gifts. The venue hosts VIP wine events, artist receptions and release parties. Open in the evenings from March to October.
Elk Mountain Vineyards and Lake County Wine Studio are teaming up to present an educational and entertaining springtime historical agri-tour of the organic Elk Mountain Vineyards on May 15 from 2-6 P.M.
Dana DiRicco & Dr. Glenn Benjamin grow Sauvignon Blanc and Port wine grapes on 30 acres of their certified organic 110-acre farm in Upper Lake, utilizing their Percheron draft horses to aid in cover crop control, cultivating and harvesting, and have been attentively restoring the early 20th century farmhouse on the property.
Guests will board the wagons at the Wine Studio on 1st & Main Streets, Upper Lake, and will enjoy a 6- mile ride out of town to the farm and through the vineyards. Refreshments will be served (for guests over 21 years of age, a complimentary tasting of wines from boutique vineyards/winemakers will be offered) and the tour concludes with a return horse-drawn trip back to the Wine Studio.
