Born and raised in Northern California, Denise Rushing has lived and worked in rural areas throughout the North State, primarily in energy efficiency technology business development. She is currently serving her first term in elected office as Lake County District 3 Supervisor.
Denise is an engineering graduate of Stanford University where she studied alternative energy and environmental science. She holds a Master's Degree in Humanities from Holy Names University and has led a variety of energy efficiency technology businesses.
Denise's career as an energy-efficiency technology executive spans two decades and includes a number of technology start-ups: eMeter corporation as Vice President of Marketing, CellNet Data Systems, in San Carlos: as VP of Sales and Marketing and a variety of leadership positions at PG&E in San Francisco, including Director of Energy Efficiency Programs.
